The Happy Place

When these Morristown homeowners came to Visionscape Design, they had one goal in mind, and that goal was to turn their rarely used outdoor space into the center for entertainment among their friends and family.

An absolutely stunning FIREPLACE with WOOD BOXES design came to life with the use of Castlestone Black Rundle veneer stone making it a focal point of the bluestone patio, not to mention a great spot to spend those chilly late nights.

This spacious FULL COLOR BLUESTONE IN ASHLAR PATTERN patio design also features an that features an OUTDOOR KITCHEN complete with an artisan natural gas grill with access doors designed perfectly for all-year-around use and a separate bar area which includes an outdoor fridge and trash/recycling drawer, beckoning you to sit down and have a drink on a warm sunny day. And of course, who could forget that gorgeous flat screen OUTDOOR TV mounted on the wall for all those fall football games. These features are second to none placed on this patio sized perfectly for lounging in the sun, having a family dinner outside, or relaxing by the fire without feeling as though you are crammed or on top of each other. Surrounded by FLOWERING PERENNIALS, FLOWERING SHRUBS AND GRASSES, that give the area a cozy feel. This area of entertainment is made complete with the addition of matching, wood outdoor furniture which adds another level of texture and symmetry to the design as a whole.

Stepping down to the lower yard, we follow NATURAL BOULDERS inlaid in gravel and down KARNEY STEPS surrounded by a ton of NATURAL, INFORMAL PLANTINGS which help to bright a vibrant yet soft feel to the hardness of the steps. These features help guide your eyes to the extravagant features of the lower yard.

As you come to the bottom of the steps, a natural boulder walkway will lead you straight to the ARTIFICIAL TURF . This unique backyard feature almost feels like a PGA green surrounded by LAVENDER and ORNAMENTAL GRASSES. It is a perfect place for these homeowners to practice their short game or maybe even compete to see who does the dishes that night! No matter what, everyone’s a winner with a feature.

Not a golf fan, that’s okay, this lower yard is also home to a gravel firepit area surrounded partly by a natural boulder wall encompassed by LAVENDER and other plantings that really enhance the natural feel of the yard.

These homeowners also needed a space for some water relaxation time, rather than a pool, they decided to go with a FIBERGLASS HOT TUB, a great choice for lounging all year round. This feature is situated on another, smaller bluestone ashlar patterned patio which helps post levels of the yard harmoniously blend together.

Moving to the front of the house, the facade was given a face lift with all new plantings surrounding a FULL COLOR BLUESTONE IN ASHLAR PATTERN walkway to keep that same cohesive blend.
